Marketing Director, Nordics & Benelux

We are seeking a Marketing Director, Nordic & Benelux for our client which is represented Globally in more than 80 countries. The position is newly established, reporting to the Regional General Manager placed in Benelux, and heading a Team of 8 across the region.

The ideal candidate is placed in Denmark, Sweden or Norway.

The Marketing Director will propose, define and implement the overall marketing strategy for the product Business in Benelux & Nordics (BeNo) to achieve accelerated and profitable sales growth laid out in the Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan. The incumbent is specifically responsible for all aspects of BeNo marketing and has matrix responsibility to achieve sales and profit targets within the BeNo team.

It is required to have the ability and motivation to travel up to 30% of the time, to Nordics and Benelux.

Lead the BeNo Marketing Team with a particular focus on associate capability building and development 

  • Attract talent, lead, manage, coach, and appraise the marketing team
  • Become key partner and coordination point for Nordic communication with Global Marketing Organization
  • Build the capabilities of all marketing team members in order to build a strong bench of talent within the BeNo marketing team
  • Provide strategic direction to BeNo Marketing & Product Managers; communicate product line strategy throughout the organization, with particular partnership with the Sales/Commercial Directors, Sales Managers and Regional Managers.
  • Proactively manage all performance expectations and assessments for the team; conduct annual career development sessions and develop/succession planning activities for the team

Create and oversee the execution marketing strategies to ensure best practices are leveraged within BeNo market according to unique needs 

  • Ensure that effective market analysis, needs identification, and competitive analysis is conducted in the BeNo regions as input to the overall strategy development. Serve as the point person for the BeNo business in key strategy and operational reviews, management meetings, and customer events
  • Actively participate with Global Marketing in New Product Development, New Product Launch Planning and establishing and implementing best marketing practices.
  • Develops, defines and implements strategy for AOP. Aligns business plan and regional strategies with top priority corporate metrics. Effectively manages Marketing budgets for the Countries and Region
  • Successfully differentiates the brand and brand positioning to multiple customers in the market. Customizes positioning of product and services
  • Develops marketing communications plan for brands in line with the overall marketing strategy.
  • Responsible for the Annual Marketing Plans and for the execution of the global marketing strategy in the regions.
  • Drive Marketing Excellence and develop a best-in-class marketing team. Ensure collective and individual training and use of marketing tools, plans and systems from the global organization
  • Implement best practices and Nordic alignment for marketing planning, partnership programs and product launch execution
  • Develop and implement forecasting model and oversee product forecasts by country
  • Jointly with Market Access work to ensure optimal reimbursement and tender position for key products
  • Obtain market data and intelligence from each market, draw insight and communicate to the rest of the organization

Commercial Excellence: Develop the best Commercial Team in the industry jointly with the Benelux & Nordic Leadership Teams 

  • Drive Commercial Excellence to increase customer satisfaction and provide a superior customer experience
  • Drive and be a role model for the organization in working cross-functionally to drive commercial excellence
  • Develop metrics to track customer satisfaction

Educational qualifications: 

  • Minimum of Bachelor´s degree and preferably a Master’s degree in marketing and/or business
  • You have 5-7 years in a Marketing Manager position
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working internationally
  • Leadership experience working in a multinational business, preferably with a track record of leading a team across different cultures
  • Experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical business is mandatory.
  • Fluent in Danish and English

Personal qualifications & skills:

  • Strong strategic marketing skills including experience in the development of portfolio strategy, marketing plans and branding/marketing campaigns
  • Experience managing people and technical resources in a direct and matrix capacity
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong relationship management skills; proven track record of producing results in a matrix
