European Chemical Market Manager

Situation / Responsibility:

The primary responsibility for the European Chemical Market Manager – is to expand Admix’s market presence in the Chemical industry throughout Europe. This position is responsible for putting together a plan to address the market, which includes a sales goal for new equipment, a service plan, and managing resources, opportunities, and sales channel to meet the plan. The sales channel may be a mix of Reps, Distributors, OEM’s, and direct.

The position reports to the European Sales Manager.

Key responsibilities / Task:

  • Develop an annual sales, service, and marketing plan to address the Chemical market to include projected sales targets and resources required to hit the target
  • Manage the outside sales function, traveling to end user facilities (in conjunction with Sales Channel Partners if needed) to discuss and review opportunities for Admix equipment, working with the inside sales team for applications/technical support and for preparing proposals, overseeing field trials of our equipment, and working within the Lab to arrange end user product testing
  • Manage the outside service function, working with the service team to make sure that the existing customer base is connected to Admix products and aware of the many services that is offered to keep their equipment in good working order. This includes commissioning new or rebuilt equipment, developing recommended spare parts lists, reviewing service programs, and providing repair/rebuild options either at the customer site or at our facility
  • Work with the engineering team on new products and existing product modifications to meet chemical market needs
  • Where applicable, take full responsibility in the hiring and termination of sales agencies within the chemical markets to maintain sales goals. Work independently or with the Regional Sales Managers as needed to assist in managing, training, communicating with, and mentoring the Sales Channel Partners
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure that we build and maintain strong name recognition in the chemical market. This will require trade show participation and booth preparation, designing relevant industry magazine advertising campaigns, putting together the content for newsletters and blogs, and ensuring that our website information is accurate and current
  • Utilize CRM as a sales tool, and keep CRM data for customers, leads, and opportunities updated

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to work with end users before, during, and after the sale
  • Strong sense of urgency and rapid response time
  • Ability to develop and build relationships
  • Solid technical ability and knowledge of chemical manufacturing process specific to paints, oils, inks, and coatings

As this is an outside sales position, travel is expected at approximately 50% of the time.

Education and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering required
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales, sales management or customer service preferred
  • Prior experience working in the chemical industry, specifically the paints, oils, inks, and coatings segment(s) is preferred
  • Prior experience selling mixing equipment is preferred

General qualifications:

  • Excellent and demonstrable skills in written communication
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Problem analysis and resolution at both strategic and functional level
  • Strong experience from a WW operating organization
  • Ability to build strong networks and relationships
  • Experience from same business area is an advantage
